Privacy Policy

Effective date: 1 October 2026

The short version

This policy explains how Nuri's Nest ("the app") handles information. The app is made by Fatih Ünal, trading as Poyralgo ("we", "us"). It is written to be read by a parent rather than by a lawyer, and it is deliberately short, because the app does very little with data.

1. Information we collect

We collect nothing about you or your child. We operate no servers for this app, we have no database of users, and there is no code in the app that sends us anything. Everything in section 2 below stays on your device.

One exception exists, and it is worth stating plainly: if you buy Nest Plus, the app checks that purchase with Apple through a service called RevenueCat. That is a network call, and it is the only one the app ever makes. It is described in section 5. Everything else — every lesson, every word, every setting — works with the device in aeroplane mode.

2. Information stored on your device

So that the app remembers where your child is up to, the following is saved in the app's private storage area on your device. None of it is transmitted, and none of it is visible to us.

WhatWhy
A nickname, if you choose to enter oneSo a child with siblings can find their own profile. It is optional, and may be left blank or be any name you like.
The animal your child pickedSo a child who cannot read can recognise their own profile.
An age band (2–3, 3–4, 4–5, 5–6)To decide how many pictures to offer as choices. No date of birth is requested.
The two languages chosenTo decide which language is spoken and which is taught.
Learning progressWhich words have been heard, found or missed, which lessons are complete, and which stickers have been earned.
Your settingsDaily goal, optional daily limit, bedtime, difficulty, sound effects, and whether written words are shown.
Minutes used per dayTo show you the week's summary and to apply any daily limit you have set.

We do not ask for, and the app has no field for, a real name, a date of birth, an email address, a telephone number, a photograph, a voice recording, a location, or any device or advertising identifier.

3. The microphone, the camera, and the photo library

The app does not use them. One activity invites a child to say a word aloud after Nuri; nothing is recorded, listened to, or judged — the app simply pauses, and then carries on. The app requests no microphone, camera, photo, location, contacts, or notification permissions.

4. Children's privacy

Nuri's Nest is designed for children aged two to six and is intended to be set up by a parent or guardian.

Because the app collects no personal information from anyone, it does not collect personal information from children. We therefore have nothing to disclose, share, sell, or use for advertising, and there is no verifiable parental consent for us to obtain in order to collect data — as would be required under the United States Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the United Kingdom Age Appropriate Design Code, or Article 8 of the EU General Data Protection Regulation.

In addition, in keeping with Apple's requirements for apps made for children:

5. Third parties

There are no analytics, attribution, advertising, crash-reporting or social services in this app. There is exactly one third party, and it exists only to answer one question: has this Apple ID bought Nest Plus?

RevenueCat handles that check. When you open the parent area or buy Nest Plus, the app asks RevenueCat whether the purchase is valid. RevenueCat receives the receipt Apple issued and a random identifier its software generates on your device — not an email address, not a name, not your child's nickname, age or progress, and no advertising identifier. We never learn who bought what; we only learn that this installation is entitled to Nest Plus.

If you never buy Nest Plus, this call still happens once at launch to confirm you have not bought it. If that troubles you, note that it carries nothing about your child — there is nothing in it to identify a person. RevenueCat's own privacy policy is at revenuecat.com/privacy.

If you download the app from the App Store, Apple will have its own record of that download, under Apple's privacy policy rather than this one. We can see only the anonymous, aggregated sales and crash statistics that Apple shows every developer; these never identify a person or a device.

6. How long anything is kept, and how to erase it

Everything is kept on your device until you remove it. You can erase it at any time:

Because we never receive any of it, there is nothing held by us for you to request, correct, or ask us to erase. The one record kept elsewhere is the purchase itself, held by Apple and by RevenueCat so that Nest Plus can be restored on your other devices; ask us and we will have it deleted, though you would then lose the ability to restore the purchase.

7. Your rights

Data protection law — including the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR — gives you rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection in relation to personal data a company holds about you. We hold none ourselves. The purchase record described in section 5 is held by RevenueCat on our behalf, and we will act on any request about it that you send us. You also retain the right to complain to your local supervisory authority; in the United Kingdom this is the Information Commissioner's Office.

8. Purchases

Nest Plus is an optional one-off purchase that opens every category. It is sold and charged by Apple through the App Store: we never see or store your payment details, your card never touches us, and refunds are Apple's to give.

Buying it sits behind the same question that guards the rest of the parent area, so a child cannot buy anything by tapping. The purchase is tied to the Apple ID that paid, which is how "Restore" works on a second device — there is no account with us to log in to.

9. Security

Data stored by the app lives in your device's own app sandbox, protected by the operating system and by your device passcode or biometric lock. We run no servers and keep no database, so there is nothing of ours to breach; the purchase check described in section 5 travels over an encrypted connection and carries nothing about your child.

10. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the effective date above will change with it, and material changes will also be noted in the app. Previous versions are available on request.

11. Contact

Questions about this policy, or about privacy in Nuri's Nest, are welcome at [email protected]. We aim to reply within a few days.
